diy: easy, creative summer scarf
Remember this tutorial? I showed you how to make a simple, no-sew ombre scarf.
Today's tutorial can be a continuation OR a brand new tutorial. Still easy. Stil no-sew.
It's a fun, quick outdoor summer project.
Here's what you'll need:
one length of knit fabric, approximately 24" wide
bleach pen or bleach & Q-tips
waxed paper
newspaper
Layer the newspaper and waxed paper underneath your knit to protect the table surface.
Working fairly quickly, draw your design.
I drew simple flowers, swirls, and dots on each end of the scarf.
Allow it to sit and do it's work for a few minutes until you reach the desired effect.
Rinse under cold running water until the bleach is washed away.
Wash and dry in a normal cycle.
That's it!
Enjoy your new scarf.
looks like a fun project.

ReplyDeleteWhat is the fiber content of the scarf?
ReplyDeleteOMG...that bleach pen so useful =)
ReplyDeleteLovely! I've been wanting to try the bleach pen on t shirts - perhaps with the kids this summer.
ReplyDeleteNow you have to post about how to tie it!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
