featuring studio spaces

I don't know about you, but when the end of the year is in sight, I get this tingling excitement that, quite frankly, only happens once a year. Cleaning, arranging, and organization are not part of my vocabulary until late December and January. Toss in a generous amount of inspiration and there's no telling what can be accomplished.

In the spirit of inspiration, organization, and studio spaces that inspire...

I'm beginning a weekly post called "Featuring Studio Spaces".
The first feature will be on Thursday, January 6th - just in time for the new year!

Would you like for your space to be featured?

We'll include pictures of your space and discuss a little about how and why it works for you,
your favorite pieces, storage ideas, design, etc. You can even ask for reader suggestions with a studio issue you're facing and, hey, we all have issues. Right?

  2. Jan and Feb also is also the time i clean up, sort out and organize..well try to ..this year my space is getting a new coat of paint as well. the wet work area, an enclosed patio area, looks like a bomb blast has occured..that's gotta get addressed big time.
i love that mag "where women create" however it seems they mostly belong fabric or painting type artists. i'd love to see some pottery, metal and wood working studios where the work gets really messy.

  3. Patty - I sent a nibble out for you.

Spirited - Exactly! And it doesn't even have to be a fabulous studio space. We could show large and small, in progress and complete, specific issues that need solutions, etc. I think it'll be fun. You should submit yours. :)

    I've got three so far.

  4. What a great idea, I recently moved my space and it still looks like a tornado came through. I've had class the last 3 weekends and work during the week and Christmas and and and, you get my drift. Maybe once I clean and organize a bit I'll send you a picture. Thanks!

  7. My studio space is not pressworthy. It is not even fully functioning and it sure as heck ain't pretty like those in the glossy pages of a magazine! Maybe if I get my act together (and remember where I stowed it!) I will participate! Thanks for always being such an inspiration yourself!
    Enjoy the day!

  8. Erin,
That's okay! I think it should serve as inspiring AND helpful w/ comments and suggestions. You could even jump in with a particular issue you want worked out. Send pics and describe your issue. I'll post it one week and we'll see what comes up. :)
