the cami

Remember this? I finally finished it on Sunday and if I were a younger chick, I'd not think twice about wearing it in public. However, given the alternative, it has become my "new" nightie/cami (which thrills Mr. Waterstone to no end - insert sarcastic look here). I was inspired by this post over at Angry Chicken. My version will be somewhat short of the fabulous technical detail her article offers, so be sure to look back at her post. Here's what I did...

I centered a camisole over the tee shirt

I pinned it into place and cut around the top and sides.
I cut all the way down to the hem of the original tee.

the cut out

I used 1/2" bias tape in a contrasting color.

I cut two pieces to cover the length of the front and back top, folded over, pinned, and stitched.

The two stitched pieces.

Oops! Forgot to photograph the next step. I measured the distance around the underarm area all the way over my shoulder (the straps). I cut two pieces, folded, pinned, and stitched all the way around creating the straps. (email me if this doesn't make sense.)

Ta Da!!!! Not too bad and the best part is...

if I sleepwalk during the night and someone finds me wandering the streets, they can call the 800 number to return me safely home. :)

Tomorrow I'll be showing you a few new eco-friendly designs from Waterstone.
In the meantime, do me a favor and have a fantastic Tuesday.
